Rubberlip Pleco
Fish farmers commonly keep a rubberlip[ pleco in their breeding tanks to keep them clean of algae and excess food.
The Rubberlip Pleco is a peaceful algae-grazing catfish that makes an excellent addition to planted and natural ecosystem aquariums. Smaller than many common plecos, this hardy species spends its day grazing on algae, biofilm, and surfaces throughout the aquarium while remaining compatible with a wide variety of community fish.
With its calm temperament and manageable size, the Rubberlip Pleco is an excellent choice for aquarists looking for a natural algae grazer without the large adult size of common plecos.
